Chelsea’s Costa Contract Gets Attention In Summer


Chelsea’s focus  now is to ensure they remain in front to breast the Premier League tape and win the FA Cup come May.

The team manager Antonio Conte noted that after a successful season, the Club will look to extend the contract agreement of star man Diego Costa in the summer but the immediate focus is on silver ware.

The Brazilian born striker was linked with a move away from Chelsea in January, reportedly enticed by riches in the Chinese league. Both Costa and Chelsea overcome the China jamboree in January and was recently speculated he had agreed a new long-term contract.

Conte insist that the league and FA cup is the Blues’ present focus and all contract extensions would come in the summer.

“I think now for the players, for the people who work for Chelsea, and for me it’s important to be focused on the present. At the end of the season we’ll see the situation.”

Quizzed on if he was confident of keeping Costa at Stamford Bridge, the Italian added: “Yes, I’m confident, but I repeat now it’s important to keep the great concentration for the present.

Chelsea play Wolverhampton in Molineux in the FA cup fifth round on Saturday and enjoys an 8 point lead at the top of the Premier League.
