Cameroon Crowned African Champion

The Lions of Cameroon has won the 2017 Africa Nations Cup, beating Egypt 2-1 in the final of the prestigious African football Tournament.

The match was looking to extend beyond 90 minutes before Vincent Aboubakar scored in the 88 minute to decide the winner. Mohamed Elneny earlier gave Egypt the lead in the 22 minute of the first half and that took the teams into the break. On resumption in the second half Cameroon started quite strongly and got rewarded in the 59 minute through Nicolas N’koulou’s header to put the game at 1-1 before Aboubakar’s stunning winner.

The sides last met in the final of the competition in 2008 where Egypt came out victorious.

With this win Cameroon now won the trophy for the fiveth time in its history while Egypt failed to record their eight win.
