Unending Troubles for Valencia: Cesare Prandelli Resigns

Cesare Prandelli resigned as Valencia Manager. By this action Prandelli becomes the latest in a long ling of coaches who failed in their effort to turn the fortunes of the club around.

Los Che release an official statement on friday announcing the news:

“Cesare Prandelli has communicated to Valencia Club de Futbol his irrevocable decision to resign from his position as coach, as of Friday, December 30th. ‘Voro’ Gonzalez will take over in charge of the first team squad. Valencia CF director Anil Murthy and sporting director Jesus García Pitarch will hold a press conference at the Ciudad Deportiva on Saturday, December 31st, at 10 a.m.”

The Italian was named coach of Valencia only in September this year, becoming the 10th manager to lead the La liga outfit since 2012.

The Club which has always enjoyed a frontline status in spanish football has become a shadow of itself since Peter Lim took over as majority owner in 2014.

Prandelli couldn’t turn the tide, quitting after 10 games.
Valencia currently sit in 17th place on the La liga table tied with Sporting Gijon on 12 points.
